Abstract
This study examines the relationship between outdoor air pollution exposure and the severity and mortality of COVID-19 pneumonia. The study utilizes individual-level data from patients hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonia, assessing the impact of various pollutants such as PM10, NO2, NO, and NOX on mortality risk, gas exchange disturbances, and systemic inflammatory response. Our findings indicate that higher exposure to these pollutants is significantly associated with increased mortality risk and adverse outcomes in COVID-19 pneumonia patients.
